Debating the first principles
of law and policy

The Georgetown Law Federalist Society brings together conservative and libertarian students who are committed to building an American legal system that upholds the rule of law, protects individual liberties, and preserves traditional values. We host distinguished speakers, sponsor thought-provoking debates, and connect members with a lifelong professional network.

About the chapter

The Georgetown Law Federalist Society is one of the largest and most active law school chapters in the country. We are committed to creating a forum for free and robust debate on the fundamental questions of law and policy that shape our Nation's system of governance.

We welcome all students with a genuine interest in these questions, regardless of political affiliation. Our speakers have included sitting federal judges, prominent practitioners, and leading legal scholars.

Members gain access to the national Federalist Society network — a community of over 70,000 lawyers, judges, and scholars — offering unparalleled professional connections for careers in the judiciary, public service, and private practice.
